About Us

As an experienced public policy researcher and practitioner, Heidi Young has used her professional skills to create a site to generate momentum within each individual to do their part in tackling climate change. The research reveals and the climate statistics support that if we do nothing, by mid-century the planet will experience devastating consequences. However, the collection of many small acts made by individuals can make a difference. It starts with you and me.

The information in this site is based on the latest research and supporting data from internationally recognized sources for the study of the environment and global climate change, some of which include: the World Resources Institute, the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Initiative, U.S. Energy Information Administration, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the U.S. Department of Energy. In addition, links to the world's most trusted news sources and other educational and environmental organizations are provided to further expand the information that is readily accessible to the user. The site's contents will be continually updated and culled from literally hundreds of sources (worldwide media, scholars, experts, think tanks) to give you the need-to-know information to understand and do something about global climate change.

Essentially, all the work has been done to synthesize the latest news, research and information available so you don't have to spend your time searching. Instead you can spend your time learning, and most importantly, putting what you learn into action.

Heidi Young has her B.A. in Government and Economics from Smith College and her M.A. in Public Policy from the University of California at Berekely. Her interest in the environment is both professional and personal. Heidi lives with her husband and three children in San Francisco, CA.
